The UM Career Center’s Public Service Intern Program is designed to help students learn the tools they need to secure and successfully complete an internship in Washington, DC.
What are the benefits of joining PSIP?
- Resume, cover letter, and interviewing workshops
- Internship search guidance and resources
- Housing options in DC
- PSIP/University of Michigan alumnae network
- Strong community of students passionate about public service
The application process contains two parts. First, an application is collected via mjoin.umich.edu. Second, applicants selected to interview will engage in their interviews in The Career Center with PSIP alums. In both aspects of the application process we are looking for demonstrated interest in public service, a willingness to commit to the program, and a desire to be part of the PSIP community.
Applications are due by Sunday, September 29th at midnight. After the interview process, final decisions will be made by October 17th via e-mail. The first PSIP meeting of the year will be October 24th at 6pm.
